Apple has posted three new Shot on iPhone ads to its Apple Turkey YouTube channel. The fifteen-second spots are special in that all three videos have been taken by 11-year old children using an iPhone 7. The clips include quirky uses of perspective and slow-mo to create some clever sequences.

National Sovereignty and Children’s Day is a special day for Turkey, which sees government positions including the Prime Minster and cabinet replaced by children representatives. The children discuss matters relating to education and the environment, and even sign executive orders.
Apple is featuring the work of 11-year old Beliz in the three Shot on iPhone videos. In the first clip ‘Rabbit’, Beliz used macro photography techniques to get a closeup of the animal showing how its hair blows in the wind.
In the second video, titled ‘Dog’, Eren P is seen balancing on top of a dog on a beach. It is then revealed this is a clever use of perspective to make the dog seem larger than life, and therefore shot entirely on the phone rather than depend on after-effects digital camera trickery.
Using the same artist as the first video, Beliz, the third clip includes slow-mo shots of water balloons bouncing onto the floor, beautifully demonstrating the 120 FPS Slow-Mo feature in the iPhone 7 camera. All three ads end with the same words in multicolour text, iPhone ile çekildi, which translates into English as ‘Shot on iPhone’.
Apple has been using the Shot on iPhone theme for many years now and frequently makes special videos for special local events. Last year, it released a commercial in Europe called ‘the beautiful game’ to celebrate the start of the European Football Championship.
