Following Apple’s Brooklyn event yesterday with hands-on time for the press, the first 2018 MacBook Air unboxing videos have started to hit YouTube. While these aren’t full reviews, they offer a good first look at what customers will get out of the box when orders begin arriving next week.
With the rollout of MacBook Air hands-on and unboxing videos, Apple is following a precedent it set with the iPhone X. The first videos come from YouTubers focused more on vlogging rather than traditional tech-focused outlets.
YouTube channel TechMeOut was one of the first to share its 2018 MacBook Air unboxing this afternoon, highlighting the gold model. Here, we can see that the MacBook Air comes with color-matched Apple stickers, like the 12-inch MacBook.
Also included in the Retina MacBook Air box is a USB-C charging cable as well as a 30W USB-C power adapter. This is the same power brick that comes with the 12-inch MacBook, whereas the 13-inch MacBook Pro with and without Touch Bar feature a 61W adapter.
YouTuber Jessica Whitaker also shared her (very excited!) Retina MacBook Air unboxing, showing off the same gold model. Whitaker’s video offers a behind-the-scenes vlog look at yesterday’s Brooklyn event, as well.
While these two videos mark the first MacBook Air unboxing videos to hit the web, we’ll likely see more continue to come out over the next few days as Apple sent press members home with review units from yesterday’s event.
