TestFlight was recently updated with a refreshed design and new features, but Apple still had one more thing before the end of the year. TestFlight’s iOS app has now been updated with support for dark and tinted icons in iOS 18.
TestFlight now supports dark and tinted icon
According to the release notes for version 3.7.0 of the TestFlight app for iOS, the update adds a dark icon and also improves support for the painted icon mode introduced with iOS 18. While iOS can automatically turn some icons dark, the result doesn’t always look the best – and developers can create their own custom icons for these modes.
For those unfamiliar, TestFlight is a platform from Apple that lets developers distribute beta versions of their apps to iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro users.
As we reported in October, Apple has redesigned TestFlight to make the app easier to use. The interface is now more similar to the App Store interface, which includes a description of the app and screenshots. Previously, TestFlight only showed the developer’s notes on what to test.
Last month, Apple also updated its Apple Developer app for iOS 18 with a dark icon. The company also recently redesigned the App Store Connect app, which is used by developers to manage their apps available on Apple platforms such as iOS and watchOS.
TestFlight 3.7.0 is now being rolled out, and you can download the app for free from the App Store.
