Four new iPhones coming next year, with one launch very soon

Apple is likely done launching new products this year, but the company has plenty in the works for 2026, including four new iPhone models—one of which is expected to arrive very soon.

iPhone 17e

Apple’s first iPhone launch of 2026 is rumored for very early in the year.

It’s the iPhone 17e—successor to iPhone 16e and the last member of the iPhone 17 family.

iPhone 17e is rumored to feature several upgrades compared to its predecessor, including:

  • A19 chip, up from the A18
  • Dynamic Island rather than a notch
  • Center Stage front camera
  • Thinner bezels for a more modern design

The main shortcomings compared to the base iPhone 17 is that it will still only have a single rear camera, the display won’t include ProMotion or always-on support, and no Camera Control either.

But with an expected $599 price tag, iPhone 17e could be a compelling choice for budget-conscious upgraders.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will launch next fall, likely in September.

Apple’s flagship new models are rumored to build on the advancements that have made iPhone 17 Pro so popular. This includes:

The new iPhone 18 Pro models may not have drastic changes, but if this year’s 17 Pro success is any indication, the next flagships could prove very popular too.

iPhone Fold / iPhone Ultra

After years of rumors, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is finally coming in fall 2026.

The iPhone Fold / iPhone Ultra will arrive with a price tag rumored for $2,000 or higher.

It’s expected to resemble the iPhone Air, with an ultra-sleek titanium frame. The inner display will measure around 7.6 inches, while the outer display is about 5.4 inches. It will utilize a book-style folding design, reportedly with zero screen crease.

iPhone Fold could pack the biggest iPhone battery ever, though with the new form factor, it’s unclear whether that would automatically equal best-ever battery life.

The A20 Pro chip from iPhone 18 Pro will also be included in the foldable. As for cameras, there are two rear cameras expected, plus two front-facing—one for each display.

Finally, Apple is rumored to use Touch ID rather than Face ID due to size constraints and having two separate displays.

2026 iPhones wrap-up: No iPhone 18?

One important model that Apple would normally launch is no longer expected in 2026.

Typically every year, a base model iPhone arrives in the fall alongside Pro models. But rumors indicate the base iPhone 18 is getting pushed back a few months into an early 2027 release window.

That could always change. But per the latest reporting, Apple plans to ship high-end iPhone 18 models in fall 2026. Then in spring 2027 we’ll get the lower-cost base iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and possibly iPhone Air 2.
