macOS 26.6 beta 3 rolling out now, here’s what to expect [U: Public]

Update, June 30: The public beta is now available as well.

Two weeks after releasing macOS 26.6 developer beta 2, Apple is now rolling out beta 3 for developers, ahead of the system’s official rollout. Here’s what to expect.

macOS 26.6 beta 3 now available

Two weeks ago, Apple released macOS 26.6 beta 2, and, as expected, it didn’t include many new features.

Apple’s release notes for beta 1 mentioned a bug fix for a situation where macOS deprecation notifications were incorrectly displaying after mistakenly identifying some apps as Intel-only, but that was pretty much it.

With the test cycle for macOS 26.6 almost complete, Apple’s focus now turns to macOS 27 Golden Gate, announced earlier this month during WWDC and expected to be released this fall.

That said, we are digging through the new beta and will report back if we find anything noteworthy.

The release build for macOS 26.6 beta 3 is 25G5052e.

How to install the new beta

Here’s how to install the macOS Tahoe 26.6 beta 3:

  1. Backup your Mac
  2. Open System Settings
  3. Go to General ⇾ Software Update
  4. Click the ‘i’ icon next to Beta Updates
  5. From the dropdown menu in the top-right, select the macOS Developer Tahoe Beta
  6. Hit ‘Done’
