iPadOS 27.2 public beta 2 and more now available, here’s what’s new

Yesterday Apple released new 27.2 developer betas, and today public beta testers have fresh updates available too. Here’s what’s new in iPadOS 27.2 public beta 2 and more.

Latest 27.2 betas include design updates and hidden new features for Apple TV 4K and HomePod

If you’re part of Apple’s public beta program (beta.apple.com), the company is rolling out new beta updates today.

Public beta 2 is available now for iPadOS 27.2 and rolling out for tvOS 27.2, HomePod 27.2, and more as well.

These releases are the exact same software versions that shipped to developers yesterday as developer beta 3.

Some smaller changes debuting in today’s betas include design updates in Apple Books, the redesigned Apple Music logo, and splash screens in a couple apps highlighting features we’d previously discovered.

More notably, code for Apple’s latest betas reveals new features expected to be announced next week for Apple TV 4K and HomePod. But public beta users won’t see those as user-facing features, since they’re currently hidden in code pending Apple’s announcements.

In case you missed it, Apple is expected to launch new products next week and again later in October.

Have you installed public beta 2 for iPadOS 27.2 or another update? Found anything new? Let us know in the comments.
