With Dark Knight star Christian Bale no longer in the running for the Steve Jobs role in the upcoming Sony-made biopic, producers are now in talks with Michael Fassbender for the top job. Fassbender, who looks sort of like Jobs depending on his shave, is known for his roles in X-Men and Inglorious Bastards. While Sony is still trying to lock down the main part, it appears that Seth Rogen is still set to take on the role of Steve Wozniak, while Danny Boyle is still in for director and Aaron Sorkin is in as screenwriter. It’s interesting that actors as well-versed as Bail and Leonardo DiCaprio have turned down the role to portray such an icon of the modern world.

interesting! FYI, It’s Christian Bale, not Bail. But I like the pun!
I refuse to watch any Steve Jobs biopic that doesn’t have Christian Bale as the lead character.
thanks for post
I can understand actors being reluctant to take on the role of Jobs. Everyone has seen hours of him on stage and in interviews. He was a very unique individual with a remarkable set of distinctive qualities. We all have a perfect Jobs performance in our heads already. It is hard to face an audience so well prepared to disbelieve your performance.
Or it doesn’t fit with their schedule, or they don’t believe it will be a successful movie, or they think they have a better opportunity on the table, or they don’t like the script, or they have an issue with the director, or their agent is telling them bs.
Who knows the real reasons for them choosing not to take the role. I’m sure this happens all the time. We just never hear about it because we don’t follow movie works this early on like we are with this one. I honestly doubt they are afraid of the audience.
Why does it have to be a hollywood megastar? What ever happened to finding the perfect actor for the role? It’s Steve Jobs after all, the name alone will fill the seats and sell copies.
Hope michael fassbender bends over backwards during his possible portrayal.
Just out of curiosity reply to this comment with what actor you think would fit the role:
Ryan Gosling
Noah Wyle should be the only choice.
Could we quit it with the “Bale bail” pun? It was funny the first couple 100 headlines but damn.
You must read a ton of tech sites
You know! They should get Gilbert Godfrey to do it :-D
Why not recast Aston Kutcher?
There have already been two Jobs biopics… I can see why A-list actors would not want to be seen as riding on the coattails of B-listers who have already played Jobs in major movies.
