Twitter is launching a new iOS app today called Dashboard that it hopes will better help businesses manage their accounts. For Mac users, there’s also a web component to Twitter Dashboard.
Dashboard works similarly to third-party services like Hootsuite or even Twitter-owned TweetDeck by letting businesses schedule tweets ahead of time and view analytics about tweet performances over time. Dashboard can also notify businesses of Twitter mentions based on keywords so you can know what customers are saying about you even when they don’t directly mention you. Dashboard also includes tips for businesses new to using Twitter to promote themselves with clues for what content to send and when to promote positive tweets from customers.
For example, if you work at a restaurant, a tip like, “Your team is as unique as your business. Tweet a surprising fact about one of your team members,” might remind you to share some recent recognition your chef received. Or, if you’re an interior designer, seeing, “Share the love. Like and Retweet kind words from your customers,” might prompt you to Retweet a customer’s excited reaction to one of your recent projects.
Twitter Dashboard is available for iPhone starting today on the App Store, and on the web at dashboard.twitter.com.
Aside from Dashboard, Twitter recently introduced Engage for iOS, which is an app that lets users see tweet stats and activity from verified accounts, and Twitter ‘#Stickers’, which are searchable images that can be applied to tweet pics.
