Microsoft has today shared that it will be releasing Minecraft: Education Edition for iPad to enrich classroom learning around the world next month.
Announced in a blog post, Microsoft said that students will be able to create, experiment, and document their learning with Minecraft: Education Edition on iPad. This also includes the recent Update Aquatic that was released this summer.
“Minecraft: Education Edition on iPad unlocks new and intuitive ways of collaborating and sharing and has revolutionized the way our students and teachers explore curriculum and projects,” says Kyriakos Koursaris, Head of Education Technology for PaRK International School. “The features allow for deep and meaningful learning, and the values it promotes, from inclusivity to 21 century skills, empower everyone to use technology with extraordinary results,” said Koursaris.
Microsoft notes that teachers who haven’t implemented Minecraft in their classrooms yet can get going with a tutorial and other free resources on how to leverage the education edition.
Schools that have Microsoft 365 licensing agreements already have access to Minecraft: Education Edition. Downloads for iPad will be available sometime next month.
