WhatsApp now lets users pin multiple messages to a chat

It’s been a while since WhatsApp introduced the ability to pin a message to a chat, so that it is always visible in that conversation. With the latest version of the app, Meta has introduced a small change to this feature that now lets users pin multiple messages to the same chat.

WhatsApp increases the limit of messages you can pin to a chat

According to the platform, users can now pin up to three different messages per chat, either groups or individual conversations. The feature is ideal for finding important messages more easily, as pinned messages are constantly displayed at the top of a conversation. With just a tap, the app takes the user to the full message in that chat.

Here’s how you can pin a message in a WhatsApp chat:

  1. Open a WhatsApp conversation
  2. Long press on the message
  3. Select “Pin” from the context menu
  4. Choose the duration of the pinned message

It’s worth noting that messages can be fixed for 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days (the default option is 7 days). Also, in group chats, admins have the option of choosing whether all members or only admins can pin a message.

More new features coming soon

Last month, WhatsApp added four new text formatting options, including bulleted lists and block quotes. The platform has also been working on implementing passkey support in its iPhone app. Earlier this year, the app added an option to let channel administrators send voice messages and create polls.

WhatsApp is available for free on the App Store. It requires an iPhone running iOS 12 or later. Make sure you update the app to get access to the latest features.
