Perplexity

Two months ago, Perplexity brought its Comet AI browser from the Mac to the iPhone and iPad for the first time. Now Perplexity has launched a big update to Comet for iOS that it says includes eight major improvements.

Perplexity has released a brand new version of its macOS app that is replacing the company’s previous Mac software.

Apple gave Perplexity a shoutout during its Q2 2026 earnings call yesterday, and now the company is offering more details on why it is building its Mac-first Personal Computer platform. Here are the details.

Perplexity has been early to the AI-browsing space with its Comet web browser. Today’s Comet update includes some welcome features for iPad users.

AI is shaking up plenty of industries around the world, but despite concern from some analysts, the iPhone appears stronger than ever despite Apple’s AI struggles. And that’s not a coincidence, according to Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas.

Starting with iOS 26.4, Apple supports using AI chatbot apps on the iPhone through CarPlay.

ChatGPT was the first AI app to arrive shortly after iOS 26.4’s release. Now a second AI chatbot has added support: Perplexity.

Last month, Perplexity announced Personal Computer, a Mac-based personal AI assistant. Today, the Mac-specific version of the company’s Perplexity Computer system, inspired by OpenClaw, is launching.

Following yesterday’s Comet iOS browser release, Perplexity is back with another AI announcement: Perplexity Health. The new “suite of connectors” includes integration with Apple Health, Perplexity says.

Apple’s Mac mini is back in the AI headlines. Last month, Perplexity released its own version of the OpenClaw “personal AI assistant” idea with a feature called Perplexity Computer.

Now the company is taking the concept a step further with an implementation it calls Personal Computer. This version “works with a Mac mini that runs continuously, merging your local applications with Perplexity Computer.”

Following a limited test earlier this year, Mozilla is now adding Perplexity AI as a default search engine option. Here’s how it works.

Rumors of Apple considering a Perplexity acquisition refuse to cease. Meanwhile, another AI firm continues to be part of the conversation. Both are mentioned in a new report that paints a picture of Eddy Cue as pro-acquisition despite pushback from other Apple executives.

Perplexity has long been accused of deliberately bypassing anti-scraping measures to retrieve web content. While the company has historically dismissed these accusations as disingenuous or misunderstandings, a new report shows that not only is the practice still happening, but it may actually be getting worse.

The Perplexity app for macOS lets you trigger a keyboard shortcut to instantly bring up the prompt field for a search. And now, it’s getting even more useful thanks to the addition of MCP support. Here’s what that means, and why you should look into it.

Busy day for AI-based browsing. Just as Reuters reported that OpenAI is just weeks away from releasing a browser, Perplexity, the company behind the famous AI-powered “answer engine,” launched Comet, its own take at what browsing looks like in the age of AI. Here’s what it looks like.

As Apple scrambles to play catch-up in the generative AI race, a new report says the company has considered making its biggest acquisition ever.

Mozilla is making its first official move toward AI-powered search in Firefox. As part of a new experiment, Perplexity AI is now being offered as an optional search engine directly in the browser’s address bar. Here’s how to try it.

Last week, Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas floated the idea of making a better version of Siri for iPhone users.

Less than a week later, the Perplexity AI team has kind of delivered.
