Apple’s Vice President of Global Human Resources Denise Young-Smith emailed all Apple employees last week regarding diversity and inclusion. The email continues Apple’s recent string of events to promote diversity within the company. In mid-August, Apple released diversity data and held events on campus to promote inclusion. Young-Smith was promoted to head of all Apple HR earlier this year, and she received additional attention last month when she was added to Apple’s official executive biographies web page. Tim Cook tops Out power list for third consecutive time, more than anyone who has come out

For the third consecutive year, Apple CEO Tim Cook has ranked #1 on Out Magazine’s The Power List, which features prominent gay men and women with influence in American public culture.

The list has featured the likes of Rachel Maddow, Anderson Cooper, and Nate Silver, but most notable is the Alabama native’s lack of public acknowledgement regarding his sexual orientation.

Eligible bachelor or not, Cook shouldn’t have trouble sleeping at night, as he topped another important list last year: highest paid CEO.

Following today’s blowout numbers, we just received word that Apple CEO Tim Cook sent a short email to Apple employees congratulating them both on a record setting holiday quarter and starting 2012 with the launch of a groundbreaking initiative for education with iBooks 2 and iPad textbooks.

Perhaps most enticing, Cook told everyone to report to Town Hall tomorrow either in person or through their AppleWeb online portal at 10 a.m. PT to discuss “some exciting new things going on at Apple.” Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs typically held such meetings following major product launches like the iPad and iPhone.

Cook’s last all hands email was sent just one week ago and discussed Apple’s supplier responsibility report.

Today’s email from Cook is pasted below:
