Tim Cook during the China Mobile launch earlier this year
Amid Apple’s push to expand its presence in China with its new deal with China Mobile, AFP reports Apple is suing the State Intellectual Property Office in China as well as Zhizhen Network Technology.
The dispute is not a new one as Zhizhen Network Technology previously sued Apple over disputes with Siri and its Xiao i Robot product, but this time the roles are reversed. Furthermore, Apple is filing suit against the patent office responsible for protecting patent rights after the agency declined to invalidate Zhizhen’s patent, according to the report.
The case will be heard on Thursday by the Beijing Number one Intermediate People’s Court, but no ruling has been announced for the case heard last July yet, so we it may be some time before this concludes.

Apple was very careful to appear humble and respectful torward PRC and Chinese citizens over 2013 (To many people’s mocking). It’s a culture of respect and I recall many people saying they were weak or whatever for doing being that way. It’s also a country that has a powerful and not always fair government. I hope that Apples actions in 2013 towards China as a whole help. Their humility pie they ate in China last year could really pay off here. Hopefully their concerns won’t be dismissed without thought since they were willing to play nice and be “yes men” last year. Maybe I’m over anaylizing this but I think there is something there. The rest of you can let me know if I’m crazy.
Referencing a bit of what I am referring to Apples actions toward China last year and the response many in the comments gave were negative.

good luck with that
They just need to move all production back here where jobs are needed, tell China to take a flyin’ leap and sell their knock off/rip off Crapple products without Apple feeding their corrupt system. It’s a country of respect as long as the “respect” is flowing in the right pockets. Come back to the country that deserves these jobs and respects the company. I’ll pay a little more for my Apple to have it all manufactured here!
The only thing the Chinese have innovated, is Chinese food. Everything else, they stole.
Suing a Chinese company in China, let alone an institute of the state and coming out victorious is the day I learn how to cook properly.
