Uber iOS app adds credit card profiles, allowing you to separate business & personal rides

uber

If you use Uber for both business and work pleasure, it can be a pain handling the accounting, having to remember to claim the business rides back on expenses. But the service now allows you to register a second credit card for business use, and then simply tap your Personal or Business profile in the app to charge the appropriate card.

You can create your profiles by hitting the menu icon top-left then selecting Settings > Profiles > Start riding with profiles. You can then use your iPhone camera to scan your business credit card to add it to the app and select it as the default payment method for your newly-created Business profile.

Uber added AMBER alerts to its drivers’ app last month.

Great. Now when can we expect the update that collects appropriate sales taxes and allows you to verify the driver is properly insured?

I think it will take new competition for Uber to further improve its service.

Uber has been in business for only a few years. But Uber is safer than the taxi cab industry, more predictable in terms of cost, much more reliable, and far less expensive too.

Uber was able to succeed only because the competition has been incredibly weak.

I never used Uber but I have to say that their service has to comply to the same laws as the taxi companies. They have to have a special license which isn’t
cheap and have to pay the same amount of taxes. This doesn’t happen, at least in my country.
