Digits, the calculator for humans
for iPad and iPhone

Get organized! Conquer numbers on the go.

We’re human. We’re busy. We make mistakes. So we designed a calculator for humans, from the ground up. Digits combines the edit-ability of a spreadsheet with the simplicity of calculator. Dare we say it? Digits is a calculator a human can love.

So, why do so many humans love Digits? Its uniquely correctable tape means never worrying if you entered a calculation correctly. Make a mistake? Tap any entry on the tape to correct it (or edit, insert, copy and more). Then, add a label/comment and email or print the tape.

Digits is great for:
Adding up expenses, labeling and emailing them
Doing a quick calculation and being able to double-check and correct entries with ease
Entering a long series of calculations and then emailing it to yourself for import into Numbers or Excel
Quickly calculating a couple scenarios by editing any previous entry to automatically update the total
Easily creating a grand total from a number of previous calculations with flagging
Keeping a series of short calculations available for later reference
Sharing via email, printed output or by files.

FAQ:

How do I make corrections to my tape?
Just touch the item you wish to correct!

How do I edit an item?
Just touch the item you wish to edit, tap the “Edit” icon, use backspace or clear to delete the current calculation, the numbers and +-÷x to enter the new calculation and OK to save the edit. Cancel will abort any changes you’ve made.

How do I use or clear memory items?
Just touch the item you wish to use or clear or use the Mx and MR buttons.

Why is my tape taking so long to load?
If you have hundreds of calculations, they can take a while to load. So, it’s a good idea to clear your tape before it gets too long (use the Clear All button that looks like circle with a vertical line). Don’t worry, clearing your tape won’t reset your preference settings. Remember that in Digits Calculator if you wish to keep your tape you can always just create a new tape in the tape browser. The old tape will be saved for you and you can always go back and review or edit it later.

Can I share or backup tapes?
Yes! In Digits Calculator you can now access tape files using iTunes File Sharing. Before using File Sharing, make sure you’ve closed Digits. This ensures that your latest edits are saved. To backup or share a tape (with another user or device that has Digits Calculator) just drag the tape (.digits) file to your Desktop from iTunes. To add a tape just drag and drop it into the File Sharing list.

Can I print my tape?
Yes! Digits Calculator now supports wireless printing via AirPrint.

I forgot to include a calculation. Do I have to redo the whole sequence?
No. Just touch the item in your tape after which you wish to insert a calculation. Then, tap the “Insert” icon. Once you’ve entered the calculation hit OK to save it. Cancel will abort the insert.
