Still, by far, the best Twitter client on any platform.

I just wish they’d update the darn iPad app.

    • And the desktop client.

Tweetbot for iPhone is my favorite and most used app, by FAR. And yet the iPad app still uses the old iOS 6 design. I know it’s a ton of work and it’s only two guys, but it’s been a year and four months since iOS 7 was announced. Maybe they should hire.

Agree, on my brief time with Android I spent at least $15 on twitter clients. They ALL suck!!!!

Like you, I really wish the would update the iPad and MAC client. It’s taking wayyyyy too long :-(

  2. I saw it and tried to grab it, but then it vanished.

One of the best apps from one of the worst developers.

I still don’t understand twitter, but I really really want to. I totally get what celebs, corporations, and blogs/bloggers get out of it, because they have a huge audience, but what about the people who have 25, 40, 100 followers… does anyone get anything out of it as a platform or is it just a way to comment on other peoples lives/products/ideas? I wish I could figure out how to give myself a larger audience. I don’t want to make comments on other peoples hashtags and topics, I want to start my own! ***Self-Righteous***

For me, Twitter is like a real-time RSS feed. That’s how I use it. Occasionally, I respond to folks on my feed, but normally it’s to see what’s going on. Because of this, I depend on my RSS reader (Reeder w/ Feedly) far less now.

Also… as a time waster, fun to follow joke feeds like (I’m a huge Doctor Who fan) The Doctor, The Master, various Dalek Twitter feeds. Just fun to read their tweets as a way to burn away time.

Normally though, it’s as above… a semi-replacement for my RSS feed.

Same for me. I often refer to it as my real-time news network. It just so happens I may talk to friends from time to time.

It says that interactive notifications allow you to reply to tweets as they come – does this mean it’s like messaging app quick reply?

    • beta382 - 10 years ago

No, Apple does not allow this functionality to third-party apps. Genuine quick reply is restricted to iMessage only (for now).

All that apps can do is add two buttons. In the case of “reply”, it likely opens up the application to the reply view.

      • vandiced - 10 years ago

I hope they change that. I’ve been wondering about this for a while. Wish I could reply to whatsapp messages with quick reply

Seems its taking its sweet time to propagate through the store.

    Not showing up for me

  8. Taste_of_Apple - 10 years ago

    Awesome. Love Tweetbot.

  9. Did you guys know that if you open iTunes and hit one of the buttons at the bottom 10 consecutive times, it will refresh the App Store? :) I just did that and got the update.

like it…just wish they would support landscape

Anyone have success posting tweets to Pocket? The extension seems broken in this update. Works from from other apps.

    • Same problem. I haven’t been able to connect to pocket. Tells me my credentials are wrong.

Neither pocket, nor Tweetbot acknowledge this. I’ve reached out to both several times.

  12. “Free for existing Users”? HA.

Not if you were unfortunate enough to support this company back when tweetbot 2 was the premier app. To all of those users, Tweetbot kicked to the curb and stopped support of the tweetbot 2 app requiring you to pay for the new $5 (!!) tweetbot 3 app. If you’re worried about being abandoned and forced to pay for the upgrade of Tweetbot 4 then i would avoid this developer and stick to the considerable cheaper and yet stull fully featured Free official Twitter app.

I don’t understand why this app so popular. Tweetbot is ugliest Twitter client, even original Twitter iPhone app much better, or Twitteriffic – much beautiful and useful.

  14. singingfriar - 10 years ago

Love the apps but disappointed in developers who are unresponsive and slow in updating the iPad and desktop clients, which we were told were being sold at a “premium” to ensure support and future updates.

    So, where are they?
