Update: A spokesperson for Amazon confirmed Amazon Rewards Visa cards now support Apple Pay: “Amazon Rewards Visa Cardholders can now pay with Apple Pay. The website (https://www.chasedigitalpayments.com/) has been updated and cardholders can now start provisioning their cards.”
Just two days after Amazon said it was working to enable its Rewards Visa card in Apple Pay, the company has made good on its promise. Reddit users are reporting success in adding the card, and TechCrunch posted the above photo of a card loaded into the app …
We’ve asked Amazon for confirmation that the ability to add the card is available to all.
Apple is working on expanding the cards accepted by the service, with notable gaps today in the form of corporate cards and many small business and prepaid cards. If your bank doesn’t yet support Apple Pay, you can check out the lengthy lists of banks and other financial institutions that will gain support via Visa or MasterCard in the coming weeks and months.
There have been a few glitches along the way, including multiple charges, but fixes for these seem to be in hand.

I just loaded this in this morning – though, with Wall Street giving up on Amazon, who knows how long this will be a viable option.

with all the Apple Pay stories here, Rite Aid rejecting Apple Pay and Google Wallet, because Rite Aid is part of Merchant Customer Exchange and they are piloting their Currentc payment system.
Ok, this rapid turnaround reeks of Amazon underestimating the outcry of their subtle “stick it to Apple” mentality. If there was any technical issue, it would not be a couple day turn around.
