Apple Pay in-app checkout added to Ticketmaster, LoungeBuddy, more

While retailers and venues have steadily been rolling out Apple Pay support for buying goods in the real world, Apple Pay is possibly even more popular with checking out for physical goods and services within apps. This week’s additions include Apple Pay in-app checkout support on iOS with Ticketmaster, LoungeBuddy, and more.

Ticketmaster, which provides you with the ability to buy and sell tickets to “thousands of live music, sporting, arts, theatre, and family events”, updated its app recently to version 1.7.1 adding support for Apple Pay at checkout using Touch ID and your secured credit card information. Ticketmaster’s support for Apple Pay extends to all current Apple Pay app compatible devices: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad mini 3, and iPad Air 2.

LoungeBuddy also recently rolled out support for checking out with Apple Pay within its app with version 2.0.2. LoungeBuddy “displays all airport lounges in over 500 of the busiest airports around the world” and now supports Apple Pay as an instant payment option  for its Instant Lounge Access feature for users in the United States and United Kingdom. Apple Pay payments are available through LoungeBuddy for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users.

Finally, Groupon users can now use Apple Pay on iOS in more places. The deals, coupons, and shopping app recently extended Apple Pay support for buying goods and services through its iPad app starting with version 3.8 for iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 users. Groupon previously added Apple Pay checkout to its iPhone app for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users in version 3.6.2 last October.

Nice, now when I order festival tickets to Electric Daisy Carnival and the like, I’ll be able to complete my order faster and get the cheaper tickets that sell out fast, just by using Pay and not having to punch in all my info first!
