The latest drone flyover of Apple’s under construction Campus 2 gives us our closest look yet at the site.
The footage above was shot in 4K just yesterday and sent in by reader Brandon Elwood, giving us the most up-to-date look at construction progress on the site. The new drone flyover follows the latest official aerial shot straight from Apple earlier this week.
The footage shows a few up-close shots in comparison to past drone flyovers and focuses in on the segment of the main circular building that has already started to get off the ground.
The latest news surrounding Apple’s Campus 2 came earlier this month when a recycled water project led by Apple and the needs of its new campus was approved by city officials. The $17.5 million project will see Apple and partners lay 13,300 feet of pipeline to pump recycled water into Sunnyvale and Apple’s new campus in Cupertino. Apple expects to start moving into its new campus when construction wraps up at the end of 2016.
We’ve been tracking construction progress in our Apple Campus 2 timeline with the latest official aerial shots from Apple, drone flyovers, and news surrounding the project.

I’ve gotta say, when it was just a trench, it was a little difficult to get a good sense of how big it was. Now that the structure is starting to materialize, it’s a bit easier to tell just how massive this building is going to be. It’ll be awesome to see the trees and plants going in!
It’s a HUGE building but not very tall and when finished surrounded by trees and plants — a great place for Tim & Jony & the rest to hide their Apple secrets.
Also, I wonder if it’s engineered in such a way that would allow Apple to add a floor or two in a decade or so if they wanted.
Lol, unfortunately there are no user serviceable parts in the spaceship, but they’ll be happy to build another that is even thinner and lighter than the current one!
