Tim Cook assures investors, via Jim Cramer email, that Apple is still seeing strong China growth

Cook surprised Cramer on his 10th anniversary episode of Mad Money earlier this year.

Although the stock market is currently experiencing turbulence, with $AAPL stock dipping below $100 in pre-market trading, Tim Cook has made a rare exception and directly responded to CNBC analyst Jim Cramer who raised doubts about Apple’s Chinese growth. Cook notes that Apple has seen strong business growth for its products in China though July and August. Quoting from the email via CNBC:

Growth in iPhone activations has actually accelerated over the past few weeks, and we have had the best performance of the year for the App Store in China during the last 2 weeks.

Although the email is addressed directly to Cramer, Cook alludes to the fact it is a message for Apple’s wider investor base: ‘As you know, we don’t give mid-quarter updates and we rarely comment on moves in Apple Stock. But I know your question is on the minds of many investors’. Cramer and Cook have demonstrated a strong personal connection, with Cook surprising the CNBC show host earlier this year live on air, which gives some context as to why Cook decided to make such a direct remark to Cramer rather than a more general Apple investor announcement.

Cook says that their performance so far this quarter is ‘reassuring’ and believes that China is an unprecedented opportunity over the long term, thanks to the growth of the middle class in the region. $AAPL stock is down about 6% amidst the current stock price plummet.

    Tim Cook is lying.

Tim Cook does seem to be the lying kind. Public statements can be checked so I am sure he is very careful what he says.
But someone named ‘Howe Tu’Cheatum’ seems like a perfect name for a liar.

If you have an example or proof, give it. Otherwise please crawl back under your rock.

I meant ‘does NOT’ seem to be the lying kind. The world for an edit capacity…

      • You’re definitely right. Apple is not a company that lies to the public. There are other companies that do that. First that crosses my mind is Samsung, purposefully making their processors achieve higher benchmark stats.

And yes for the edit function, I’ve been telling them that for months now. No change, just this design that is a step back.

I’m sorry, but you just need to listen to tin can and crawl under your rock. Apple is the most valuable company on the planet, they cannot afford to lie. There are hundreds if not thousands of people employed around the world by investment firms just to find out anything and everything about Apple, and they would find that Tim lied immediately. You know what that would do to the stock? As well as the assets of every employee, company, firm, and even regular investor? Boom, stock crash like 2007. Obviously not that dramatic, but many of the largest investment firms have Apple as their prime stock. Not to mention that oil has dropped below $40 a barrel, causing massive damage to oil drilling companies.

Really? I didn’t see in his statement where he said you were very successful and definitely *not* a total virgin.
