Tim Cook set to speak at Box’s BoxWorks conference next month

Apple hasn’t officially confirmed its expected September 9th iPhone 6S event just yet, but we now know where Tim Cook will be at the end of next month. Box announced today that the Apple CEO will be joining Box CEO Aaron Levie for a fireside chat to open the enterprise cloud service’s BoxWorks conference in California. The conference runs September 28-30 at Moscone Center in San Francisco with Cook’s fireside chat set to take place on September 29th.

Levie announced Cook’s partcipation in a blog post today:

Tim and I will discuss Apple’s role in enterprise, and where they plan to go from here. Beyond Apple’s unfathomable influence on the technology landscape, I admire Tim immensely as a leader and an individual, and hopefully we can also talk about his impact beyond tech to make the world a better place.

While Cook has previously made the conference rounds in past years including stops at AllThingsD-turned-Recode’s All Things Digital conference and the WSJ’s WSJDLive conference, this year will mark a first for the Apple CEO in participating at Box’s annual conference.

With the fireside chat set to take place just a few days after Apple is expected to release the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, topics will surely include the newly announced products plus Apple’s strong stance on user privacy protection. As for its enterprise efforts, Apple has its IBM MobileFirst deal in that space and some enterprise-friendly features in iOS 9 including split-screen app activity and more.

Box, which received a mention from Tim Cook recently after taking the company public, offers large buckets of secure cloud storage across various platforms including iOS and has its own secure collaborative notes app on the platform.

Tickets for BoxWorks range from $700 to $1100 depending on when and where you buy. Another notable speakers include Ed Catmull of Pixar, John Chambers of Cisco, and Jamie Miller of GE.

Perfect opportunity for Tim to report on opening weekend sales too, perhaps?
