Adobe is out with its annual Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements updates, which let you quickly edit and share your photos and videos from the desktop. The consumer friendly Photoshop Elements 14 and Premier Elements 14 includes handy new features that everyday photographers will appreciate including dramatic camera shake and haze removal tools for enhancing images plus motion titles for creating profession looking movies.
Photoshop Elements 14’s camera shake detector impressively sharpens and enhances photos that suffer from shaky hands during capture. As the demo above shows, this can take important but blurry photos that you capture quickly and make them worth keeping forever. Shoot group shots with your friends without pulling out the selfie stick.
Photoshop Elements 14 also packs in a powerful haze removal tool that radically enhances photos that you shoot when the lighting plays tricks on you. The effect is similar to those Claritin ads from a few years back. Ideally none of our photos would be plagued by the fog, but I have found that even my iPhone 6 camera shot photos in certain conditions in a way that made me think my lens was a little dirty when it’s not. Maybe my iPhone 6s Plus coming this afternoon will improve that, but Photoshop Elements 14 has you covered for all your old images.

For movie makers starting out, Premiere Elements 14 is iPhone 6s ready with newly added support for editing high-res 4K videos. The update also delivers new motion titles that bounce, spin, and zoom to add a professional touch to your movies. Adobe’s Elements apps are designed so you don’t have to be a professional to understand them, and Premiere Elements 14 uses enhanced step-by-step Guided Edits through each editing step to make cinematic production possible for anyone.

Adobe Elements 14 Organizer continues to offer a familiar way to organize and search through your library with enhanced facial recognition similar to iPhoto, Photos, and Aperture. Elements 14 Organizer also includes a handy places view for finding geotagged images on a map, which Photos hasn’t quite made on par with the retired iPhoto and Aperture apps.
As ever, Adobe Elements 14 and Adobe Premiere 14 will be priced $149 together as one package or $99 each when bought individually with versions for Mac and PC. Individual upgrades are available for $79.99 or bundle upgrades for $119.99. OS X 10.9 Mavericks or higher is required for Mac users.

Adobe does this every couple of years. They make incremental improvements to Elements, and charge the full price, and their discount isn’t enough.
Show some class, Adobe, charge an incremental price for the upgrade. What you offer isn’t worth the so-called “upgrade” price.
