Google Hangouts now lets you reply on the Apple Watch; Twitch brings Whispers to iOS

Google has updated its Hangout app to allow you to reply direct from the Notifications screen – and as Engadget noted, that also means you can now send replies from your Apple Watch. As usual with Watch apps, that means either choosing from a range of canned responses, or dictating a reply using Siri …

You’ll need to ensure that Allow Notifications and Show in Notification Center are both on:

Hangouts brought a new UI to iOS back in the summer.

Gameplay recording and streaming app Twitch has also been updated for iOS users, bringing its private message feature Whispers to the platform for the first time, after initially trialling it on Android.

Both Hangouts and Twitch are free downloads from iTunes.

This is the update I have been waiting for. The ability to quick reply is awesome and I noticed the watch interactions last night which were a nice surprise and worked really well. Next up, 3D Touch support?

There is little bit misunderstanding here, I think. Hangouts didn’t release a watch app, nor they started supporting watch replies. It seems any app what supports quick reply on iphone gains a capability for quick reply from apple watch. whatsapp also works that way, too. lets hope google soon release a proper watch up. And Whatsapp..

The change to the app is supporting replies from Notifications – it’s this that allows replies from the Watch.
