Apple has seeded the second beta of iOS 9.2.1 for developers and pre-release testers, a minor enhancement and bug fix release for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The new seed has a build number of 13D14, a small bump over the previous seed. iOS 9.2.1 was released to developers on December 16th. The same build is also available to Apple Beta Program members.
As always, we’ll update this post if we spot anything new and notable …
iOS 9.2.1 is likely to be the last release for the iOS software pipeline ahead of the expected March event, as the 4-inch iPhone 7c/6c is expected to run iOS 9.3. We rounded up the rumors for this new iPhone model over the weekend.

First time beta release is small in size, this release only 34MB.
That is a small update! Getting ready to start the update on my iPhone 5.
Little in size, but huge text for the link to the changes made for iPhone 6 plus, the text looked the same for iPad Air 2.
Huh?
If the 4″ iPhone 6C / 7C is expected to run iOS 9.3, how can iOS 9.2.1 be the last release? I would think Apple would release a series of betas for iOS 9.3
I mean iOS 9.2.1 public will be the last public release before iOS 9.3. This is speculation of course, perhaps Apple could slot in a 9.2.2 release.
I thought his point was that there would probably be public betas 9.3 before the new phone. Why wouldn’t they do public beta’s of that os when they have all the others?
was anybody able to find some kind of release notes or changelog?
Does it fix the battery problems go 9.2?
There are no confirmed or acknowledged battery problems with iOS 9.2. A certain percentage of users always report ill defined “battery problems” with every release. Don’t make yourself look foolish.
I can confirm that since updating to 9.2.1 beta 1 last week (yes a little late I know) my battery life is roughly a quarter of what it was the day before installing it. or did you mean Apple have not admitted to it?
I have found my battery has improved since being on 9.2.1 so very happy at the moment..
My T-Mobile iPad Air 2 now won’t access the internet after installing the update. It shows it is connected to LTE, but nothing will load. Restarts have not helped either. My T-Mobile iPhone 6 Plus works just fine though.
Reset Network Settings or try reboot your device
I think i’m going to write a script which writes these kinds of articles whenever new iOS releases appear
Hah. It’s a repetitive job, but we can’t ignore the releases.
THE iPHONE SEVEN IS SUPPOSED TO RUN IOS 9.3 AND NOT iOS 10 YOU HEARD IT HERE GUYS. LOL.
no, they are just going off of the stupid rumored name that appeared in that image of the iphone roadmap with the new 4″ iphone. Why they insist on even mentioning 7c/6c is mind boggling at this point. It’s only aided in confusing people. New 4″ iphone. It’s that simple so clearly describes what the product will be regardless of what apple actually calls it.
I just want to know how to get the heck off the beta testing without going back to my 7/15 restore… Any help?
I think it’s just this:
settings > general > Profiles > ios 9 beta software profile > delete profile.
That should take you off the beta line. You’ll just have to stay on beta until the 9.2.1 actual release.
Yes you just delete the profile and you out of the beta loop.
No need to install. Podcast fullscreen video is after seven months not solved yet….pathetic. Watching video with 2/3 of the screen as white bars….wtf.
Have you report the bug/missing feature to Apple?
Does this address the issues caused to audio interfaces by last update?
how do people see the release notes? all i get is a link the the appleseed website that tells me nothing.
Any chance music doesn’t stop anymore when using camera on 6S?
i believe that behavior is intentional, every iPhone I’ve ever owned back to the 4 has always done this.
it sucks, but i don’t think it’s a bug they’d knock out in a point release at this point.
I’m currently on 9.2.1 beta 1 (i only downloaded it last week) but I’m now getting the “Unable to Check for Update” error message. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can upgrade to beta 2?
Does it fix Game Center issue ?
my apple watch shows as dis-connected from my iphone even though it is after this beta update…
