You can now buy replacement tips for the Apple Pencil in packs of 4 for $19

While it didn’t officially announce them onstage during its press event earlier today, Apple this evening has started selling replacement tips for the Apple Pencil. The company is selling the tips in packs of four on its online store for $19. The replacement tips are available to ship within 1 business day with the earliest deliveries happening by Wednesday.

While Apple includes a replacement tip with all Apple Pencil purchases, users have been unable to buy any beyond that initial purchase. Now, however, users have the opportunity to stock up on replacement tips should they lose the ones they initially received with their Pencil purchase.

The replacement process is about as easy as it gets: Just unscrew the old tip, attach the new tip, and screw it on.

The launch replacement Pencil tips comes the same day as Apple introduced the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, with which the Apple Pencil is compatible. Replacement Pencil tip four packs are available on Apple.com now for $19.

So I’ve been using my Apple Pencil for months and have really felt no need to replace the tip yet. Glad you can buy them now by the way. My question is, how long are they supposed to last and how do they fail. Mine seems just like it did when I bought it. Do they crack or something? I can’t find anyone talking about how their tips failed anywhere, most people just complain of losing them because they were messing around with it and removed it for now reason.
