Popular short-form video sharing service Vine has today announced a new feature that avid users of the service could appreciate. In a blog post, the Twitter-owned service announced that there is now a “Watch” button on all Vine channels that allows viewers to seamlessly view all of the content from a single channel with one tap.
Previously, Vine users would have to go through a channel and watch each video individually, scrolling to the next one once one was finished. Now, users can watch all of those videos with a single tap. Users can also customize the order in which the Vines are played: oldest to newest, newest to oldest, or by what’s popular. Finally, viewers can stop on one Vine and tap and hold it to make it loop.
From Vine’s perspective, this move should dramatically drive engagement as users will be able to see much more content with far less work. In a similar fashion to how Snapchat recently revamped viewing Stories, this move on Vine’s part should undoubtedly mean that users are watching more videos every time they open the app.
The update is available now for iOS and Android users. In February, the app was updated with new 3D Touch shortcuts on iOS, as well as the same video sort order options that now play a role in the new “Watch” button on channels.
