Adobe Photoshop Sketch for iOS is already one of my favorite iPad Pro apps to use with Apple Pencil, and the latest update adds new features that makes it even better for illustrating. Sketch also added iPhone support earlier this year, and the new version includes 3D Touch features for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Sketch 3.4 adds layer support for stacking illustrations — this makes virtual tracing as easy as the real thing.

Sketch supports layers! You can add multiple drawing or image layers. Tap on the layers icon to show the layers panel. Rename, restack, transform and merge them to get the special effects you’ve been waiting for.

And Adobe is using 3D Touch for two things: a right-click on iOS to access menus and making a pressure-sensitive stylus out of your finger.

Enjoy quick-action shortcuts like long-pressing the app and having it open to the last drawing you worked on. Your finger also acts like a pressure-sensitive stylus for more control.

Here’s what else Sketch 3.4 adds:

ENHANCED BRUSH SETTINGS Control individual settings for each brush like how it responds to pressure and velocity. And, create an infinite arsenal of custom brushes with Capture CC integration.

UPDATED BRUSHES We’ve added new Thick Acrylic, Ink Brush and Soft Pastel brushes that better simulate real-world tools.*
