Ted Lasso season 4 sets January start date as we await Apple TV+ announcement

It’s been a fun week for fans of Bill Lawrence-created shows on Apple TV+. The new season of Shrinking debuted, then immediately got a season 3 pickup. Lawrence shared that Bad Monkey is planned out for three seasons. Now, Apple TV+ has set the date for when filming of Ted Lasso season 4 begins.

Season 4 begins production very soon

Apple TV+ has not yet officially announced that more Ted Lasso is coming. But we continue to get more and more evidence that confirms season 4’s existence.

First there was word that key cast members had their contracts picked up for a new season, then Matt Belloni affirmed on his podcast that “this is indeed the go time.”

Now, the production start date on Ted Lasso season 4 has been set for January 6, 2025.

Sigmund Judge of the Magic Rays of Light podcast previously provided exclusive evidence for Ted Lasso’s new production start. Now, that information has been publicly listed on the Film & Television Industry Alliance’s website too.

I was happy the way it ended. It was perfect and they’ll probably ruin it by adding more season(s). I’m not happy that they want to continue it. It may just backfire.

Although Ted Lasso was originally conceived with a three-season arc in mind, the show’s massive popularity and beloved ensemble cast meant calls for more Lasso have been sounding since before the third season even wrapped.

It became evident that despite practically everyone on the creative team wanting to continue the show, it all came down to co-creator and star Jason Sudeikis. Now that he’s finally given the series his blessing, work has swiftly begun on a new season.

It’s unclear when Apple TV+ plans to make the announcement about the show’s continuation. But perhaps if an October event is still going to happen, that could be the perfect moment.
