Alleged iPhone 6 part images reveal circular True Tone flash component

Apple’s iPhone 6 announcement is close, and that means the leaks are coming in at an even quicker pace. New photos reveal possible iPhone 6 components and may answer a burning question about the device’s camera setup. If previous rumors and leaked schematics are true, it looks like Apple’s next generation iPhone will still ship with a True Tone flash…

After the first renders and dummies that claimed to showcase the iPhone 6’s design hit the Web, many were concerned with the circular flash opening on the backside of the mockup’s housing. Apple moved to an pill-shaped flash opening when the True Tone flash was introduced with iPhone 5s and it’s hard to see it moving back to a single LED flash.

New photos from Luma Commerce (via NowhereElse.fr), show a circular flash component that may belong to the iPhone 6. As you can see in the photo above, there are clearly two different colored LEDs within the circular flash module. Of course, there’s no way to verify that these images are genuine, but the part lines up with the device’s rumored design and mockups we’ve seen. Unfortunately, due to the slim form factor, we’re still unsure if the camera components will be protruding or not.

Luckily, we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out what’s real. Apple’s iPhone 6 is expected to be revealed at an unannounced event on September 9th, 2014.

Yay!!! Now everyone can shut up about the flash.
Another thing who cares if there’s a ring around the camera lens, wouldn’t that help not scratch the lens if it’s laying on a hard unflat surface; as far as everyone knows they have plans for the ring around the lens on the phone they designed; theirs always an option not to purchase items you don’t like

Amen. It’s so tiring reading about whose device is better and what company is purportedly better. I happen to love my iOS devices and buy new ones all the time. But frankly, I could care less if a family member chooses Android or even Samsung (a company I vehemently dislike for it’s efforts at copying everyone including Dyson) over iOS. It happens we will also not likely like the same ice cream or listen to the same music. I am perfectly okay with that. What I am not okay with is people bashing based on platform choice as if somehow ‘they’ owned a piece of a certain company. I say grow up already nobody cares what phone you use or what ice cream you eat except for you. Nobody.

If by ring around the camera lens you mean protruding camera lens then no that would decrease the chance of scratching the lens, because the lens will not be scratched by probably 99% of the devices. They use a sapphire lens, and it’s small, the likelihood of something hard enough to scratch it coming into contact with it is obscenely small.

  2. Apple started using sapphire over the lens of the camera to prevent the scratches that was occurring on the 4/4S’s

You could spend a year going to all the comments across the internet along the lines of “the flash hole is a circle, this leak can’t be reall. Why would apple go backwards in technology??” And post a reply with a link to this article, and you wouldn’t be close to covering them all

That’s correct, because people are stupid and highly unimaginative. Same reason the iWatch will be amazing and some morons don’t get the point of it, even after over a year of rumors suggesting biosensors.

“iPhone 6 render with circular flash component based on rumored schematics.”

Which “rumored schematics”? I don’t understand how so many reporters are in denial of the thick antenna lines and keep posting these renders based on wishful thinking.

In case you didn’t notice, the recently leaked electronic boards, connectors and parts fit in the highly detailed leaked back shells, you know, the ones with the “ugly” thick antenna lines.
