As it continues to expand its global reach through its retail stores, Apple has begun recruiting for Apple Store-specific positions in Brussels through job listings posted online. As MacGeneration points out, the upcoming Apple Store opening in the capital city will mark Apple’s first retail location in Belgium.
Currently Apple lists a total of six job listings targeted for Brussels with retail positions including Expert and Genius, all of which were posted today.
Apple currently distributes its products through its online store and resellers in Belgium with the recent iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch shipping to the country in Apple’s second wave of launches earlier this fall.
While the Brussels-located Apple Store is expected to open sometime in 2015, we learned earlier this week of two new stores opening this Saturday. Toledo, Ohio will be home to an Apple Store grand opening on Saturday at the Franklin Park Mall while the revamped Portland, Oregon Apple Store at Washington Square is expected to reopen on the same date.

Isn’t Brussels where the European parliament is located? Surprising there wasn’t one there before now!
This news is HUGE! Finally a store in Belgium! I can’t believe they opened 3 stores in The Netherlands but none in Belgium. So, no more trips to Lille or Amsterdam/Haarlem…
You seem to be local…. any insight why it took so long? Government regulations? Foreign ownership type of rules? public support to “save” little local phone shops? something else Im not thinking off? just the fact the Netherlands/France have stores closeby?
Im curious what caused such a delay in Belgium
I’m not sure why. However, one factor may be that for years mobile phone subsidies attached to service contract commitments were illegal in Belgium. That has changed, but there is still a culture of buying phones outright, and that perhaps makes the iPhone a tougher sell over there.
Well, I’m from Belgium and I really don’t now..
I have some really bad experiences with the local shops.. So I’m really glad there’s an Apple Store on the way!
And yes, Brussels is seen as the capital of the European Union. But why it took so long is a mystery for me as well!
I think it only has to do with the fact that Apple thinks of Belgium as an unimportand third world country…
We’ve been using Apple products in Belgium since ’79
but what do you want, it’s commerce over loyalty I guess…
Thank you Apple!
There are many countries around the world who have been using Apple products for years and who don’t have an Apple store. It definitely is a commercial thing and nothing personal I’m sure.
Why does the author of this article assume that the new Apple Store will be in Brussels? Nowhere in the job listings is there any mention of the city for the job. In fact, it probably won’t be in Brussels. According to many reports that surfaced this year, the first Belgian Apple Store will be located in Ghent.
It said Brussels in the listing when I clicked the link.
One of the links in the article takes you straight to the Apple website career section… and it says Brussels there.
Who assumes bad faith without even bothering to click any links?
This is not about bad faith. It’s a limitation of Apple’s HR site. Apple’s HR system only has Brussels as a city in the search criteria, and this is not because there are only jobs in Brussels. When you click “Brussels”, the search is broadened to all of Belgium because Apple apparently thinks that Belgium only has one city (it may seem that way, given the size of our little country) . When you look at the job listings themselves, no specific location is mentioned, just “Belgium”.
