iPhone 16 now banned in Indonesia over Apple’s unfulfilled investment commitments

Earlier this week, the Indonesian government has banned the sale and use of iPhone 16 models in the country, alongside other Apple products released this fall, including the Apple Watch Series 10. The ban occurred because Apple failed to meet some of its investment commitments in the country (via The Economic Times).

Meta Quest 3S review: Apple would never make this

Meta released a brand new mixed reality headset about two week ago, the Meta Quest 3S. It’s their cheapest mixed reality headset by far, starting at a price of $299, compared to the $499 starting price of Meta Quest 3. Apple released iOS 18.2 developer beta 1 earlier this week, with ChatGPT support, Image Playground, Image Wand, and Genmoji. However, the latter image generation features required a waitlist, one that many found themselves stuck on. A small number of users gained access quickly, but the vast majority have been waiting, unable to access the new features.

Repair YouTuber creates upgradable SSD storage modules for Apple Silicon MacBooks

Ever since the 2016 MacBook Pro models with Touch Bar, Apple has been soldering the SSD storage to the logic boards, preventing users from easily being able to easily upgrade or swap the drives in their devices.

Seven upgrades to expect with the M4 Mac lineup in a few days

Although we’re not getting a proper Apple Event, Apple marketing exec Greg Joswiak announced that there’ll be a series of announcements over the course of next week, and highly suggested that it’ll be Mac focused.

Apple didn’t release the iPad 11 this year, and this is probably why

Apple refreshed the iPad mini about a week ago, with an A17 Pro chip and support for Apple Intelligence. However, that was the only announcement. There was no refresh to the base model iPad. This had previously been expected, but it’s still a bit puzzling. The current base iPad is over two years old, why is Apple leaving it outdated?
