With today’s launch of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple has rearranged the rest of its iPhone lineup.

This year, the iPhone 12 lives on to see another year, but the iPhone 12 mini has been dropped. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini live on to see another year, while the iPhone 11 has officially been discontinued three years after its original launch.

The Apple Store is now down ahead of today’s Far Out event, but if you were hoping to buy an iPhone 12 mini direct from Apple, you may continue to be able to do so.

The company added refurbished models to its online store back in July, and new stock was added just ahead of today’s event. A restock so close to the iPhone 14 launch suggests that the company may be planning to keep the mini available for sale …

Back in 2020, Apple introduced its first “mini” iPhone with the iPhone 12 lineup. Although the sales numbers for that model were never impressive, the company gave its smaller phone another chance with iPhone 13 mini in 2021. Now it seems that the iPhone mini is going away for good. And for those of you who own one of these, are you planning to upgrade your phone any time soon?

This year I’ve had the opportunity to handle all four models in the flagship iPhone lineup: 12 mini, 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max. Each iPhone is best at something that makes the variety in the lineup logical, but four phones also makes the buying decision trickier than ever.

I usually favor the most iPhone that Apple has to offer, so I really appreciate the iPhone 12 Pro Max. This is the first year Apple has brought the iPhone X design to a smaller screen, however, and how cool I find the iPhone 12 mini has been a huge surprise for me.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has offered the most concrete details on the iPhone 13 lineup yet, including the tidbit that the 5.4-inch form factor is here to stay for at least another year. This comes as various reports have suggested that demand for the iPhone 12 mini has been weaker than Apple expected.
