iOS 7.1 builds for two new iPads 4,3 and 4,6 released, likely minor hardware revisions

Besides supporting all iOS 7 devices, iOS 7.1 brings support for a pair of new iPad models: iPad 4,3 (download link) and iPad 4,6 (download link). These models have not been announced by Apple, but they likely represent minor hardware revisions…

From time-to-time, Apple silently updates its devices with either improved or more efficient components. These rarely are announced or have any effect on customers. It is also possible that these devices could be devices optimized for overseas networks (China?). For context, the existing iPad 4,1 and 4,2 are iPad Air models and recent iPad mini with Retina display models are labeled as 4,4 and 4,5.

  1. Maybe it’s a fix to the iPad mini retina speakers which you and every other other site has totally ignored because the only solution would be a recall.

Very much watching and waiting for a Haswell with Iris Pro Graphics. That’s a day one purchase for me. But its starting to look like the refresh will come with an even newer generation of both.

      • Don’t forget to add PCIe SSD in addition to that. Wonder if it’ll make its debut along with an Apple-branded 4K Thunderbolt Display? WWDC maybe?
