Apple’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook has only held his title for 10 months, but he is already the world’s Highest-Rated CEO.
Careers community Glassdoor gave Cook a 97 percent rating in its “Top 25 Highest Rates CEOs” list for 2012. Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs only boasted 95 percent during his last year as chief executive.
Glassdoor receives rating scores from anonymous employees who review the head of their company over a 12-month period ending March 15 based on a five-point scale ranging from “strongly approve” to “strongly disapprove.” More than 280,000 employees rated their CEO on Glassdoor last year.
Ernest &Young’s Jim Curley landed the No. 2 spot on this year’s list with 95 percent. Qualcomm’s Paul E. Jacobs won No. 3 with 95 percent as well. Meanwhile, American Express‘ Ken Chenault slid into No. 4 with 94 percent. Google’s Larry Page rounded the top five with 94 percent too.
Cook is also No. 1 with the same approval rating on Glassdoor’s 2012 list of the “Top 10 Highest-Rated Tech CEOs.” Of course, Qualcomm and Google take No. 2 and No.3, respectively, while Intel stole the No. 5 spot with 93 percent. VMware, EMC, Sprint, Oracle, HP, and Amazon also made the cut.
“I think leadership is doing an amazing job. We have the best management team anywhere,” wrote one Apple Employee during a Glassdoor critique and noted Apple, Inc. is the “best place to work.”
Apple also climbed into Glassdoor’s 2012 list of the “Top 10 places to work.”
