We now have our best look yet at the iPhone 6 until Apple officially launches the device on September 9th. Russia-based YouTuber Rozetked has put together what appears to be a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 (hands on footage of the 5.5-inch model went online this morning) with several of the leaked components that we’ve seen all over the web the last several months. The comparison shows both black and white front plates, along with a space gray rear shell. The video compares the design to the existing iPhone 5s and gives a very close look at the overall design aesthetic. You can find the video along with some more still photos below:

I’m here to read foreign news, because you are the source. I was shocked when I heard Russian speech : D
Россия встаёт с колен…
And then Apple will release on 9/9 the iPhone Dummy, the most leaked iPhone, yet. :p
Damn.. Unfortunately so true..
They WANT it leaked. To distract you from the real magic.
What real magic?
It’s growing on me. I’m still no sold on the lines on the back but we’ll see
the lines in previous leaks made me cringe.. the new leaks are actually better designed.. the line blend more easily with the color of the phone cover.. J. Ive must have refined it because of contrasting issue of dark lines..
All I can think is “Android phone” when I see this. Maybe it’s just because other manufacturers have reached a similar design conclusion before this, but with this model, the iPhone seems to have lost the design language that made it uniquely an iPhone.
Huh
U must never seen any prototype iPhone from 2005 until now, this design ‘language’ had been around since first iPhone minus 4″+ screen size, research yourself you will see
This isn’t like any Andriod phone. No Andriod phone could even attain this amazing design. The glass curving into the aluminum seamlessly. It’s awesome
The nexus 4 had cruved glass and the back of the iPhone looks like the HTC one.
There have been at least two Lumia phones with curved glass displays IIRC. They weren’t running Android but the point is this kind of design is nothing new. You could argue Apple’s design is more refined but phones like this have been out for years.
Haha no phone ever has had curved glass that seamlessly flows into the curved aluminum side, for one continuous curve around all edges of the device. No phone has come close to this design, and isn’t even comparable. Curved glass around the edges of a panel are pointless without curving seamlessly into the sides. The back looks absolutely nothing like the HTC one. You guys need to open your eyes. No one but Apple could do design like this. Granted many may try to copy at some point.
The Nexus 4 looks quite nice. Pity its tainted with Android software, viruses, beta-ware apps and I use mine as either a door stop or chopping board.
The HTC One M7 and M8 both look 10x better than this design as well as the iphone 5/5s build. Face it apple no longer holds the smartphone build quality crown. Apple has never invented anything new they are only good at refreshing or improving upon existing tech or ideas even then they seem to be doing nothing but following the crowd lately.
@Tim de Jardine
viruses, beta ware apps? what are you talking about? you would have be a baboon to get a virus or male-ware on any android device you literally have to purposely try to get it. This isn’t 2008 buddy Android has improved by leaps and bounds. ios is just as vulnerable hear the news about icloud hacking recently? Yeah ios is real secure. Also in 2013 ios had over 300 know security flaws android only had 12. Try doing your research before you talk non sense.
HTC one was inspired by the iphone 5. Just YouTube the making of the HTC one.
Andriod? don’t you mean Android, unless it’s a play on words…
@Joshua congrats on making yourself look like a complete fool with your opinions. Little embarrassing
Yeah, I tend to agree with you. redefining a new iPhone is probably not easy. It can ONLY be rectangular in shape, not triangle or circle or anything else. So either rounded corners or straight corners, very limited in innovative design. I think Jony Ive has easy design choices, because theres not much there to choose from.
I still think the steel/glass of the iPhone 4 was the best design yet, that was very unique, reeked of quality all the way through.
Agreed. The iPhone 4’s design was something radically different and still my personal favorite.
Seems to be not as thin as I thought.
He is thin, but he does not fit a slim body.
It’s like .6mm thinner, so that’s not much at all, but I think holding in your hand you’ll notice more.
Keep in mind the display glass didn’t look quite flush, and he was able to just pop off the front. I imagine the curved glass and rounded aluminum edges will be perfectly aligned and feel quite nice in hand.
Yes there were a couple instances in the video where it was snapped in better, but largely the glass panel was not set into the body completely in this video.
The iPhone 6 will be my first iPhone. Can’t wait.
Those lines … I struggle to see Ive’s hand on that back. But I remember the same diffidence with the 5, that finally felt great once in your hands
Looks the same as every other video we’ve seen.
Video is down.
No it’s not, still works. Either way, I downloaded the video as soon as it was released.
It looks very nice… Except those bloody antenna bands!
Besides this, the phone is lovely. The curved edges of the glass and body are a great idea. The lumia, though a terrible phone is very comfortable to hold. I imagine this will feel better. I think I want the 5.5 inch model though. Because I’m a shallow human and bigger is better. :)
They look like garbage indeed!

This seems to be the first post Jobs iphone!! This is by far the worst designed iphone to date. The design consistency does scream Apple all over it. It resembles HTC with an Apple logo on it.
I would be surprised if this outsells the 5 or 5s. If it does it might have something to do with people longing for a larger screen iphone for years. Now people will have to look at this for the next 2 iterations of the iphone. iphone 6 & 6s.
You’ll be the first in line comes launch day.
Worst designed because…it has curvy lines on it? Hate to break it to you, but as much as I love iPhones, past models were neither perfectly designed nor designed by Steve Jobs. 3G/S plastic cracked. iPhone 4 shattered and had signal attenuation. Black iPhone 5 scuffed like crazy and had the “purple fringing” camera issue.
So, sorry you don’t like the antennas. If that ruins your enjoyment of it, maybe you WANT to complain about something? When I look at it, I see the classiest smartphone I’ve ever seen. It’s thinner than before and a curved glass/metal profile that looks both sleek and comfortable. And of course, it’s gonna have an 4.7-inch Retina display (probably sharper), A8 processor, great camera, TouchID, a huge leap forward with iOS 8, and perform miracles with the iWatch. But man, those antenna lines – worst designed iPhone to date!
Complaining about antennae bands is like complaining about doors on a car spoiling the design. The doors are the design, dummy! Form follows function, ask Dieter Rams.
No. car doors seal shut, nice and tight and are more seamless in % of the rest of the car. The car seams are about 1-2% of the total surface area of the car.
The antenna bands(seams) are a bloody 20% or so.
You see the difference?
Do you get it?
Thing is gorgeous, makes the One look gawdy. Two weeks from now, our fretting over the antenna bands is gonna look so ridiculous. It’ll have standard-setting design, the best screen (without over saturating), the best camera outside of a brick-sized device, a secure and flexible iOS 8, and probably do some neat iWatch/Homekit stuff besides. Maps will probably play second fiddle to Google Maps, Today view will look atrocious next to Google Now, and iTunes syncing will still suck. But my guess is it’ll earn 9/10 from critics and sell 70 million by January and represent a new strong stretch for Apple after a relatively boring 2012-2013.
Google maps blows for my location too. Almost all locations on it are inaccurate. The roads may be mostly correct, but the locations are just as inaccurate as Apple’s for my location.
I’ll also mention that I corrected a few locations on Google Maps which took a month or more to be fixed (I know because they email you when they’re fixed). On the other hand Apple’s maps locations I fixed were corrected in a week or two.
Yea I’ve been led astray by Google Maps plenty of times. Literally drove in circles when it kept directing me around a cloverleaf interchange (go north, go south, go north). But unfortunately for Apple Maps, it came out much later and was rightly held to a higher standard. And it still doesn’t have integrated transit, though that should be fixed soon.
HAHAHAHA makes the One M8 look Gaudy??? You have to be joking?
The One M8 looks pretty awful frankly. Nevermind, it looks really awful. Others look far better. Apple’s look a million times better. Get a clue. Sorry you own one :)
@ o0smoothies0o: The HTC is beautifully designed & most importantly it’s uniform. Saying it’s awful makes no sense. If I wasn’t well invested in the iOS ecosystem, Mac & Apple TV I would buy one. That’s the only problem with HTC (other companies), they only make smartphones but are extremely limited on other products & services (unless you want to be Googles fille de joie).
Critics will love it because they want to keep in Apple’s good graces. Didn’t you read last week’s article about Apple controlling some reporters?
Too bad the public isn’t getting good, balanced reviews. The phone probably wouldn’t sell as good if that happened.
It sells >>>>well<<<< because of the design, features, and user experience.
I think they are going to surprise us with how thin it is and how light it is. Not to mention a 5.5 inch screen. Everyone and their Grandmother will be upgrading to this phone. I’m already used to the ugliness of the lines, but that must be the best they could do.
I prefer the look of the 5s. This feels less balanced and luxury to me. But then again the software and usability is going to set it apart.
I think it’s more luxurious with the seamless curved glass into aluminum, it’s gorgeous.
How much are you paid to write this biased Apple drivel?
Cmon, we know Apple has “friendly bloggers” who consistently praise its mediocre products.
Herb I’m simply stating the truth. The chamfered edges of the iPhone 5 are beautiful and luxurious, but this seamless curving of the glass panel into the aluminum is simply beautiful. If you weren’t ridiculously biased toward other devices you would admit that too. Anyone with any sense would admit that, if nothing else, the perfect curve with the glass will look fantastic, and it must feel amazing when holding it.
That said, I think the 4/4S are the best designed smartphones ever made, by far. Although, I think that design could be made ever better if it were as thin as this and the front and back glass seamlessly curved into a Liquidmetal band. It’s hard to imagine how amazing that would look.
@smoothies,
Well you’re certainly optimistic, considering that you believe the 4/4S is the best design (which I 100% agree to) but the corners are too “bubbly” and too smooth. This kind of design is passé and looks like something from the 70’s. Furthermore the antenna bands look outright horrible unfortunately.
Maybe you’re right, maybe we’ll get used to it and will feel good in the hand.
We’ll have that going for us at least, which is “nice”, but not perfect.
@Andre umm no? This phone looks futuristic with that seamless curved design. 70s? What? Doesn’t make sense at all.
Can anyone tell if the glass front is one piece of curved glass or if it is a flat face with a curved frame around it?
It curves around the edges. More accurately, there is a bevel around it, because I think the glass is completely flat on the back, but the front is merely beveled down around all edges.
I just realised why the curved the edges of the glass. It’s going to make the LCD seem frameless on the sides. Basically a fake bezel.
Steve wouldn’t have allowed the camera to look like that, he would have put his hand down with full force.
You know nothing. He was well aware of the camera protruding on the 5th generation iPod Touch which was released in 2012. A camera protruding not even a mm is FINE. Only people who haven’t used an iPod Touch 5th generation, would think it’s a problem.
Ok..? You sound a little Pig headed.
Firstly on the iPod touch microphone has to be able to work when it’s sitting flat, thus the raise in the camera bezel.
I have seen and used and iPod touch and it all fits together nicely with all the other bit’s on the back.
However the iPhone has always been designed uniform. The back of the iPhone 6 is the most un-uniform to date and the camera just looks like an eye-saw (along with the huge bands, which have improved)
I’m sorry to say it, but I think this phone looks gorgeous. Everything about it screams class. The glass curving directly into the body of the phone seamlessly not only looks amazing, but it will feel outstanding to hold, and especially when doing gestures from the side of the screen. Has anyone else noticed how a left swipe fro the edge of the iPhone 5 screen feels a little rough on the fingers? None of that with this design….smooth as you can ask.
Yes, those antenna lines could look better…but when you use a phone, who the hell is looking at the back of it? We all thought the same about the iPhone 4 when that leaked, and then after the keynote by Steve Jobs, we seemed to magically change our minds. Why? Because we realised the design held a functional purpose as well as a design purpose.
Who knows that Apple will say when they actually announce this phone, but in my opinion, this is the best looking iPhone yet!
Completely agree. I think the only way an iPhone could look better than this and the 4/4S is to meld the designs together. Sapphire front and back glass which seamlessly curves to form a perfect curve into a curving Liquidmetal band all the way around. I think they may do this for the iPhone 7. It would look insane.
The front of the iPhone 6 looks very good especially with the way the glass fits into the frame.
The back is OK. The design of the back is based on several compromises.
– The color of the back is bare aluminum. I would prefer black or dark gray. But this is not a good idea because dark/black paint would scratch. (I have a dark gray iPhone 5 where this is a problem.)
– The bands in the back are due to the many antennas that the iPhone needs. Since the iPhone 6 is thinner than the iPhone 5/5S, the antennas could not be on the side.
* I will be buying two iPhone 6’s in the next couple months. I’m looking forward to it.
* As for the history of this design, Apple has already used some of these ideas with early iPhones and iPod Touches.
– And as for how good the iPhone 6 looks, I think it matches up well with any other smartphone.
It’s a 3Gs… bigger…. well done evolving the design. :-D
Cheers!
I currently own the iphone 4( yes i know, it’s a dinosaur) and it’s jailbroken. I have to admit, having a jailbroken phone for 2.5 years was loads of fun :), but i think its time for me to upgrade. I’m hoping the iphone 6 will be a big upgrade to me because otherwise, I’m going with the galaxy S5. I never saw the point in getting the 5S when obviously the S5 is superior to it in many ways.
