MasterCard kicks off Apple Pay advertising on TV with its latest World Series promotions

We haven’t seen any TV ads from Apple for Apple Pay since it launched earlier this week on Monday, but that doesn’t mean no one else is advertising the new mobile payment service on television. Apple Pay partner MasterCard has begun airing a new set of MLB World Series-focused ads aggressively promoting Apple Pay and the iPhone 6 in the process. As we noted earlier this week, both MLB stadiums for the World Series will be accepting Apple Pay at the concession stands for each baseball game meaning you got buy your peanuts and cracker jacks using just your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. Check out the ads below to spot Apple Pay in action at the baseball stands. The first MasterCard Apple Pay ad spot is called “Priceless Surprises with Mariano Rivera & Tommy Lasorda” and shows fans meeting the baseball stars and using Apple Pay at the stadium. MasterCard is promoting Apple Pay by allowing customers to win tickets to games and other surprises.

“We’re surprising cardholders with major league surprises!

We’ve been bringing Priceless Surprises to baseball stadiums around the country all season, like meeting Dodgers great Tommy Lasorda and Yankees legend Mariano Rivera! Use your MasterCard with Apple Pay for a chance at Priceless Surprises like tickets to the World Series, and more.”

The next MasterCard Apple Pay spot called “Priceless Surprises George Brett” follows the same format again showing people at the World Series using Apple Pay and meeting famous baseball players.

“We’re surprising cardholders with major league surprises!

We’ve been bringing Priceless Surprises to baseball stadiums around the country all season, like meeting Royals great George Brett! Use your MasterCard with Apple Pay for a chance at Priceless Surprises like tickets to the World Series, and more.”

Banks and credit card companies supporting Apple Pay at launch have been quick to promote the mobile payment service, and these World Series MasterCard ad spots continue to show that enthusiasm. Apple Pay’s launch was seen as a mostly positive experience for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users, although some users have since reported glitches with the service.
