Spotify Premium gives you no ads, offline listening, on-demand listening even on mobile and better sound quality, and normally costs $9.99. So to get three months for just $0.99 sounds like a deal that’s too good to be true.
Unfortunately, it pretty much is. While the deal is there for new users, anyone who has ever subscribed to Premium or Unlimited isn’t eligible, and nor is anyone who has ever taken a one-month free trial of Premium. So, er, just about anyone who likes Spotify, then.
Still, if you do have friends who’ve never taken up the trial, this would be the perfect time for them to try it out. They will have to provide card details and remember to cancel before the three months is up, otherwise they will start paying the usual $9.99 a month.
Spotify also recently announced a family deal of $4.99 a month for each additional Premium user. Spotify Music for iPhone and iPad is a free download from the App Store.

I have never used Spotify so I’m sure I qualify; trouble is, I don’t care.
That’s unfortunate. Spotify is quite wonderful.
…If you’re name isn’t Scott Ian that is.
Can you sign up, then cancel right away so you won’t be billed and still have the premium subscription until March? Or do you have to wait until the week before it’s up to be able to cancel it?
Not sure – I usually put in a diary note to remind myself to cancel free trials.
I don’t need to quality as I get a Premium account from my ISP. Most do that, here in The Netherlands. How’s that in The States?
Bundled with your Internet connection?
Same here in Spain, the cellphone networks bundle Premium in and use of it doesn’t come out of your data allowance. I think T-Mobile in the US does that too..
In the US, T-Mobile will give you free data for music, but you need to pay for the subscription to Spotify (or whatever music package you use) yourself.
Haha, nice article. Funny indeed.
Don’t work in Malta 0.99USD for 3 Months
Not interested in paying for any kind of streaming service. I may stream some trance or house off of iTunes Radio, but I am pretty content with not having to pay for data on my iPhone or any of these other services, and just buy a song or or album on occasion.
The same offer for UK users is £9.99 for 3 months, just for comparison :)

Nice. I’m actually one of those people who only used the free version and IS interested in having it. My new car has good Spotify integration and I’ve been using the free version a lot while driving. Probably won’t pay the $10 month later, but we’ll see.
Hey guys, I reached out to spotify and voiced my concern over being a loyal premium customer and not being able to take part in the deal, and although they couldn’t give me that exact deal, he did kick in a month of service for free. Not only was the response fast, the guy seemed very nice and understanding. Never interacted with Spotify Customer Support before, but they seem legit and very cool!
As a side note, I personally love the service. There is none out there that has ALL of the features they do from the huge library of music, off-line mode, and customization. Until another service can provide all of these options seamlessly for less, I don’t see myself leaving anytime soon. For those who haven’t use Spotify premium and can qualify for the deal, I highly recommend it!

In Italy if you subscribe a mobile plan (prepaid or postpaid) including 4GLTE network with Vodafone you get 6 months free of Spotify Premium and after 6 months you start paying 6,99€/month instead of 9,99€/month. If you subscribe for a landline with Vodafone you also get 6 months free.
In Ireland if you buy 1 month of Premium @ €9.99 you get another free.
Vodafone offer Spotify Premium for €5.99 which I myself subscribe too!
