Sorkin’s long-awaited Steve Jobs biopic due in theaters October 9th

With filming of the Aaron Sorkin-written Steve Jobs biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s official biography kicking off in recent days, Universal Pictures has shared an official release date for the film. According to CNBC, the film’s studio says the Jobs film will be released in theaters later this year on October 9th, 2015.

The film will star Michael Fassbender as the late Apple co-founder while Seth Rogen will play the part of Steve Wozniak. 9to5Mac reported earlier last week that filming had begun around the Flint Center at De Anza College in Cupertino, California where Apple first introduced the Macintosh computer in 1984. We also saw the first look earlier this week of how Fassbender and Rogen will portray Jobs and Wozniak in the upcoming film.

The film underwent a number of changes before filming ever kicked off, as you may recall, with the film’s production studio shifting from Sony Pictures to Universal Pictures in late November. The cast of the film also went through several changes.

Before finalizing on the mentioned lineup, actors Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio were expected to play the role at Jobs at various points in the film’s production, eventually pulling out making way for Fassbender to commit to the project. Jeff Daniels is involved with the film playing the role of former Apple CEO John Sculley while Kate Winslett will portray former Macintosh marketing head Joanna Hoffman.

Filming initially kicked off last month with the film’s crew on set at the childhood home of Steve Jobs and the Flint Center filming taking place last week.

I refuse to watch any Steve Jobs biopic that doesn’t involve Christian Bale.

How this movie will be different from the one titled Jobs? Won’t it be the same with different actors? I’ll watch it for curiousity but I doubt it is going to be a big hit.

Michael Fassbender is a great actor in many regards.. that said, he really does not look the part (judging solely from the screenshot).. hoping to be proven wrong but this seems to be a casting mistake.. just like in Back to the Future; when they cast another actor (Eric Stoltz) instead of Michael J. Fox and then the makers decided to scrap the project and do a complete reshoot with the right actor.. best decision they ever made… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wudNasQbv0

Christian Bale was really the right choice for Jobs.. IMHO he was the wrong choice for Moses in Exodus.. casting makes or breaks the movie no matter how good the story and artistry is.

Why does Hollywood want to portray Woz as a chubby mess. In the 70s and early 80s he was pretty fit. He didn’t start packing on the pounds until much later.

Shame they had to put Seth in as Woz. Shouldn’t Rogen be out protesting our American Hero’s ( see Chris Kyle) for doing what needs to be done in the world to protect his right to dribble about how evil we are? I am actually proud of our military and am thankful I have the protected right to tell the Sloth that he is an asshole for making such comments. In Seth’s mind, he probably now believes he invented the Mac.

    Typical ignorant Liberal Asshole.

Seth Rogan is a vile scumbag. No biopic for me.
