Apple has upgraded the version of its Notes app on iCloud.com this week to the much more capable version shown off on Monday at WWDC. The beta version of Notes is available specifically for iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 El Capitan testers.

Users logging in with accounts not using the new beta operating systems will not see the beta version of Notes, instead seeing the previous IMAP-based version. In the past, Apple has reserved beta versions of its web apps for the beta.iCloud.com address rather than targeting accounts testing the new software on Macs and iOS devices.

Apple’s upgraded Notes app adds a host of new tools for creating rich formatted content including bulleted lists and proper support for images and URLs. As we originally reported, the upgraded system takes advantage of iCloud Drive for storage and syncing rather than the slower and less reliable IMAP method.
