Less than a week after the public release of iOS 10, popular iOS Twitter client Tweetbot has been updated with a handful of optimizations for Apple’s latest operating system. The update brings the app to version 4.5 and brings new iOS 10 features, as well as a handful of other changes.
Included in the update are rich notifications for iOS 10 users, as well as improved scrolling within the app. The headlining feature, aside from iOS 10 support, are profile notes. These are described as private notes you can add to any user’s profile to help you remember certain things about them, such as why you followed them in the first place.
There’s also a new verified timeline filter for viewing tweets only by those with verified accounts or for blocking tweets from verified accounts. Mute filters have also been updated to correctly match accented characters (i.e. type Pokemon and it’ll mute Pokémon too).

- User profile notes. These are private notes you can add to any user’s profile. Can’t remember why you followed someone? This feature is for you. Requires iCloud and is accessible from the gear menu on a profile.

- Slightly smoother scrolling on iOS 10
- Mute filters now match accented characters, you can type Pokemon and it’ll mute Pokémon too
- Added a verified timeline filter
- Added command-w shortcut to close windows via a hardware keyboard
- Fixed an issue where swiping between multiple images would sometimes not work
- Fixed an issue where double-tapping on images would zoom too far
- Removed support for Readability since they are going out of business
Tweetbot 4 is available on the App Store for $9.99. Today’s update to version 4.5 comes free to all users.
