As is tradition, the Apple Store has gone down ahead of today’s 10 am EDT event at the Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York. Stay tuned as we’re expecting exciting announcements including updated iPad Pro models, new Macs, and more. Following the event the Apple Store will come back online with all the new products.
Apple’s October event was announced with the tagline “There’s more in the making” along with a different creative Apple logo variants for each invite.
We’re expecting two new iPad Pro models, an 11-inch and 12.9 inch version with Face ID, bezel-less display, and even possibly USB-C in place of the Lightning port. Just yesterday, 9to5Mac’s Gui Rambo discovered a new iPad Pro icon with rounded corners and no Home button. Today’s event could also bring an updated Apple Pencil to go with the new iPad Pro models.
We’re also looking forward to seeing Apple’s new Mac offerings. We’re expecting to see the unveiling of a new 13-inch MacBook with Retina display. How this will all shake out with the 12-inch MacBook and old 13-inch MacBook Air will be interesting when considering features and Apple likely wanting to offer something with the sub $1,000 price point.
We’re also looking out for a Mac mini update as it’s been four years since the last refresh. Just yesterday we saw a new concept that gave the stand alone desktop the space gray treatment, imagined a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Touch Bar, and more. New iMacs could be coming as well.
Other surprises could bring AirPower and refreshed AirPods (or at least a wireless charging case). We also know that Apple will release iOS 12.1 to the public tomorrow with Group FaceTime, new emoji, and more. We also expect to see watchOS 5.1, tvOS 12.1, and macOS 10.14.1 to be available tomorrow as well which could bring the new ECG functionality to Apple Watch Series 4.
