Algoriddim’s latest djay for iOS app unlocks over 20 million songs with Spotify

Site default logo image

We’ve covered Algoriddim’s djay for iOS, the popular all-in-one DJ system software, in the past including the debut of djay 2, and today djay is out with a major new feature that unlocks over 20 million songs: Spotify integration. Previously, the DJ app relied solely on songs downloaded and stored in the iPhone or iPad Music app. The latest version of djay focuses on music access and discovery and also includes set list sharing using Spotify playlists as well as more than 30 new audio effects to unlock within the app. I’ve had the opportunity to test drive the new version of djay with Spotify integration over the past week, and it’s definitely a major benefit to users of the DJ system software.

Sephora begins offering free downloads of popular iOS apps and other media

From 9to5Toys.com:
Sephora is doing its best Starbucks impersonation by giving away music, magazines, books, and apps for free. The content will continually change, but right now you can get Day One, djay 2, Silk, A Beautiful Mess, and an 8-song playlist for free. Unfortunately, as with many similar promos, it is only available in the US.

At Sephora, we think sharing is beautiful. So discover and download our favorite songs, playlists, magazines, books, and apps—for free. Our curated selections will be available for a limited time and will rotate regularly, so download the Sephora To Go app to get them all. Available for iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod touch®.

Algoriddim’s djay 2: redesigned, more capable, improved audio syncing [Review]

[youtube=http://youtu.be/mSsXrPxJ2rc]

“How can we create high quality, easy-to-use software for both professional and novice DJs?”

That’s the question that inspired co-founders Karim and Christoph to make Algoriddim’s djay, the award-winning music production software. At the time, DJ software was extremely expensive and complex, but the pair were determined to create meaningful change in an industry they were both tremendously passionate about. While they both enjoyed the art of scratching, in between attending classes and studying for exams at college, the two had vastly different skill levels.

Karim was the expert. With ten years of experience under his belt, Karim had his fair share of knowledge about the industry and had used some of the most popular DJ software available. But with every gig he played, Karim found each solution clunky and downright confounding. He could manage, as digital software proved to have a superior functionality compared to his old analog favorites, but the situation wasn’t even close to ideal.

Christoph, on the other hand, had an extraordinary admiration for DJing, but didn’t have the experience or expertise of his buddy Karim. No matter what software he tried, Christoph was often puzzled as most professional software featured an overwhelming set of controls and required an insanely high level of manual skill, which made performing all the more difficult.

As such, the duo wanted to make something new; software that they and similar people could both use.

Algoriddim teases upcoming release of ‘djay 2’ iOS app

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=q_vstCBVtoA

Algoriddim, developers of the popular Apple Design Award winning ‘djay’ app, today is teasing an upcoming release of the app with the ‘djay 2’ teaser trailer above. The app, which aims to turn your iPhone or iPad into true professional DJ mixing software, is going to be adding some big new features in version 2, and we’ll be bringing you a hands on demo of the app as it gets closer to release.

To celebrate the upcoming release of djay 2, Algoriddim is also offering current iPhone app for only 99 cents and the iPad app for $4.99. The app already features a ton of great features– a Hyper-realistic low-latency turntable interface, access to your iOS device’s music library, pre-cueing, audio effects, automatic tempo matching and looping– but we’re excited to show you what Algoriddim has to offer with the upcoming djay 2 release. Stay tuned.
