Some of the headline features, like iPhone Mirroring, and Apple Intelligence, have yet to launch, but we can expect iPhone Mirroring to arrive with today’s release of beta 2. Yet, even without those features, there are more than enough changes and updates found in macOS Sequoia to keep things interesting!

While Apple Intelligence may be the biggest change landing on the Mac this fall, macOS Sequoia includes a handful of other new features. Two features specific to video conferencing, presenter preview and background replacements, are already available in beta. As part of macOS Sequoia, these features are available in third-party video calling apps like Zoom and WebEx as well as FaceTime. Here’s how they work…

Apple announced macOS Sequoia, or simply macOS 15, at WWDC 2024 on Monday. The update comes with a bunch of improvements, including new features in Messages and a new way to mirror your iPhone on your Mac screen. Interestingly, the new version of macOS also brings an unexpected update to the Chess game that comes pre-installed on every Mac.
