Sintek denies touchscreen iMac claims
Reported wannabe Apple component supplier Sintek this morning denied previous reports the company is trialling touchscreen displays for a future Apple iMac.
Sintek Photronics spokesperson Barry Wu denied Digitimes’ claims contained in a report last week. The sometimes unreliable tech news website had claimed Sintek had
“Sent samples of projected capacitive touch panels to Apple for the latest iMac as the company is now is producing touch panels at its 5.3G line, which is the largest production line for projected capacitive touch panels in terms of substrate size.”
The rumor Apple is exploring ways to implement iOS-like touch in its Macs has been in circulation for many months, but what remains open to question is how Apple could guarantee a user experience for non-touch applications.
