Apple starts advertising Apple Watch in retail stores ahead of next month’s launch

Ahead of the launch of Apple Watch next month, Apple has started advertising the product in its retail stores, as pictured in the photos above (via @mikesiOShelp).

This is the first glance at Apple’s upcoming retail push for the device and comes as Apple kicks off a campaign for Apple Watch in fashion magazines, on billboards, and elsewhere leading up to the device’s launch on April 24 in 9 countries.

Apple has also been preparing its retail staff for the launch of Apple Watch in recent weeks. We reported that it recently briefed retail employees on how to sell Watch to customers and installed safes inside stores to house the pricier $10k+ gold models– Apple unveiled pricing and availability for the device earlier this week. Earlier this week reports claimed that Apple stores were pulling fitness related products from Nike and Jawbone ahead of the Apple Watch launch.

Also on tap for the Watch launch: we’ve confirmed Apple retail is preparing a new Reserve and Pickup system.

In addition to its own retail stores, Apple plans to showcase Apple Watch at boutique locations in well-known fashion outlets in Paris, London and other locations.

Apple is definitely going to try every other resource to push the Apple Watch. The price of Apple Watch is something sketchy.

I don’t know where this idea comes from. Yea there’s a luxury Edition watch, but the product starts at $349. In today’s money, the original iPod started at like $500+ and all it did was play music. The iPhone started at $600 WITH contract.

$349 for a first-gen Apple product is perfectly acceptable – in fact it is the cheapest flagship Apple product in recent history.

Yep. It’s the cheapest new product line from Apple. Mac, iPod, iPhone and iPad were all more expensive.

You forgot you also need an iphone with it = so together 1000+ dollars

Trinities, it’s a companion product. I’m pretty doubtful that people will be walking in to Apple Stores and coming out with two new devices. – Yes, Apple want people to upgrade their iPhone so it will be compatible, but it’s not a “$1000” product is it.

    Will wait and see.

No interest in being an early adopter. I’ve done that. Lots of people will be thrilled to get it, which is great for them, but Apple already knows what they’re doing to their Watch next.

Also, no interest in a device that has to be tethered to the iPhone. When Apple gives us a genuine Dick Tracy watch, though, I’ll be excited.

As for the argument that this is the cheapest entry item in Apple history, I already have a watch. It’s my iPhone.

On the 24th of April I;m going to buy the Apple Watch Sport for 449 Euro. I look very forward, wearing this wonderful lovely Watch. I fancy it.

  4. Looks less about Apple Watch and more about colour to me…
