Richard Teversham, (former) senior director of business, insights and strategy for Microsoft's Xbox, is now moving to Apple.  Teversham is just the latest in a string of high profile executives leaving established technology firms for Apple.  This particular moves speaks volumes for the future of Apple's gaming prospects.

According to MCV, Teversham has accepted an education-related role at the iPod creator’s European office.

Teversham had worked at Microsoft for over 15 years. He held the role of Xbox director for platform and marketing between 2005 and 2007 before becoming strategy boss.  A Microsoft spokesperson told MCV this week: “We can confirm that Richard Teversham, director of business, insights and strategy, has taken a new opportunity outside of Microsoft. A process is underway for recruiting his replacement.

What does Apple do during recessions (with its mountain of cash)? It innovates. And it looks like it is on a major hiring spree.

Thanks Jonny! (hows the arm?)

I little excited? I think instead of gaming for the Mac computer platform maybe a platform like the xbox or ps3 would be possable? I think its about time to get into that market. They already have the hand held platform with the iPhone and touch. I think it would be a smart move for apple if they came out with a gaming platform.

Like it or not, it's about time...

Whether you are a MAC purist or not, gaming PC's have always lead the PC industry with the best (and fastest) components in the PC world.  The demands that gamers have put on the PC industry is what has advanced innovation and creativity in hardware (major) and software (to a lesser degree).  Apple has always had top of the line hardware componets in their computers, so I think it is a natural progression to get gaming software to catch up with the Apple brand.

Will Apple come out with a gaming platform like the X-Box, PS3, etc, or make their awesome current platforms double as a computer and gaming platform?  I'm not paid enough to answer that, but either way, I hope it is coming, and coming soon to an iMac near me...
