Kamcord, a popular platform that lets game developers add gameplay recording features to their mobile apps, is today taking its first step into live streaming. Kamcord, the Y Combinator-backed startup with an SDK that lets developers offer gameplay recording functionality in mobile apps, today announced it has secured another big round of funding as the service hits some impressive milestones and launches a new community iOS app. Even before picking up a $7.1M Series A that it announced today, it’s quickly emerged as the top in-game recording platform and is starting to gain some serious traction with over 5 million videos shared and over 3 billion gameplay videos recorded. That’s compared to 2 million videos shared and 2 billion videos recorded back in February.
The new iOS app, available on the App Store now, will allow users to access the community of shared gameplay videos as well as user profiles, likes, and comments that it first launched as a web based feature on the desktop. The app will also let users search for games and Zitzmann noted, “the early stats for the app are compelling… 30% of users click to download a game every day.” Read more
Angry Birds Star Wars: Rovio has been teasing the Star Wars edition of Angry Birds for a few weeks now, but today we get our first look at gameplay from the new title. The game appears to be just a Star Wars themed version of the traditional Angry Birds gameplay. Rovio has more on its Tumblr. Angry Birds Star Wars will hit the App Store on November 8th.
Netbot for App.net: The App.net client made by Tweetbot creators Tabots is receiving a nice update today that brings push notifications, as well as an “experimental post search” feature. In addition, the update includes a number of fixes and improvements and is also available to the iPad version.

Discovery Channel HD: Discovery Channel updated its iPad app today to include “an interactive second screen experience synchronized to the premiere of two MythBusters episodes.” The episodes are airing this Sunday, November 4th at 8pm. The update also includes optimizations for iOS 6.
GAME mobile app: One of UK’s biggest game retailers is launching a new iOS app today that offers access to its Game Reward and Gamestation Elite programs.
