Yesterday, we reported on purported photos of the larger, 5.5-inch iPhone 6’s 2915mAh battery pack among other parts, and today, new clear shots of the 4.7-inch models have leaked. Photos of the smaller next-generation iPhone’s 1810mAh battery first hit the web in July, and these new photos add weight to the previous photos being legitimate. For comparison, the iPhone 5s’s battery is 1560mAh, but because of the higher-res screen on the iPhone 6, it’s possible that the bigger battery pack could be offset but the additional pixel pushing. Besides a bigger battery, the new iPhones will likely include sharper displays, faster A8 processors, new sensors, and improved cameras. The new devices will debut at an event on September 9th and begin shipping around a week-and-a-half later. Another shot of the 4.7-inch model’s battery is below:

nice
What a joke..
Let’s pray for A8 processor low power performances if it won’t come from the battery.
I’m guessing you mean the battery size is a joke without knowing any of the other factors determining battery drain. You’re probably right in your assumption but I’m simply hoping for the best. However, it is likely battery life will remain about the same as before until a serious advance in battery technology becomes available.
Ok unless apple really managed to cut down on power consumption the battery life will be horrible. My 5.5 inch oneplus one has 3100 mah battery so it looks like iPhone 6l battery life will be good.
Um, correct me if I’m wrong, but even after zooming in on the batteries, I don’t see the mHa rating on these anywhere on the product… All I see is the voltage and 6.91WHr rating…
well watts divided by volts equals amps. so that gives 1.8099 amp hours convert to milliamp hours and there you do
Just a little physics lesson for you…
Electric charge (Q) equals energy (Whr) divided by voltage (V). –> Q = 6.91 / 3.82 = 1.808 Ahr = 1808 mAHr
Cool, just wanted to clarify that. Also, AppleInsider posted an article about the same leak, but with more photographs, confirming it’s 1810mHa.
Cheers
You need a better monitor. It clearly shows the mHa rating below the circle.
Lets hope these batteries are actually to boost the battery life of the 5S which will be re-released as the low end device with a redesigned logic board to hold an NFC chip, in addition to a new 4.7 and 5.5″
Correct me if I’m wrong,
Is iPhone really coming in 2 different sizes?
What does that mean for developers?
Its so not like Apple, is it?
If the screen on both sizes is 1080p Resolution it doesn’t matter what the size of the phone is, it will be the same coding for both screens except the 4.7 inch model will have a higher PPI than the 5.5 inch model they still have the same overall amount of pixels. For example, all 1080p HDTV’s can display the same shows the same way because the all have the same number of pixels.
That’s not entirely true. Photos and videos should have a high resolution which scales independently of screen resolution. UI however should be optimized per screen size, meaning, UI elements should be fingertip sized on iOS devices. The 4.7″ and 5.5″ models should have different pixel counts because their ppi should be the same. This way designers can make a UI element that has the same size on all devices, while the content of the apps is programmed to be edge to edge regardless of screen size.
From a learning iOS app developer perspective, it does not really matter if there are two new resolutions or one universal resolution across both larger screened devices. Thanks to auto-layout in Xcode 6, this should be not as bad of an issue as it seems.
That all aside, knowing Apple having unique resolutions, I hope they both have around a 1080p resolution or a PPI that can compete with phones like the HTC One M8 etc.
I don’t get it, when apple makes a different size iPhone everyone freaks out while android developers support tons of screen sizes from 3-20+ inches
Relax! Developers (like myself) can just use auto layout to resize the app
Tmz has a leak on iPhone 6 wireless charging
TMZ is a joke.
