There’s been an awful lot of Schmidt talk lately with the Google chairman’s new book How Google Works available for your reading and analysis, and Eric Schmidt continued his defense of Google after Apple CEO Tim Cook’s recent comments contrasting the two competitors on privacy. “Someone didn’t brief him correctly on Google’s policy,” Schmidt told CNN adding that Google’s systems “are far more secure and encrypted than anyone else including Apple.” Schmidt did credit Cook for correctly pointing out ads on Gmail, though, so they can at least concede on that point. That’s the funniest thing heard all day.
Me too :D He’s completely unaware of a reality. You can never ever ever ever compare yourself to a rival company (which is waaaay ahead of you) and openly say you’re better than them, that’s the marketing rule No. 1!
Apple does this all the time….
Secure for who? The user who wants their privacy or Google who knows all about you and your web visits so as to bomb you with ads???
Dick!!!
Drink poison and get bit by a snake. Nothing will happen to you. ***oozing with sarcasm***.
They just don’t get it. It’s not a matter of our information being safe from other people, it’s how safe our information is from Google.
talking ‘schmidt’… did he just draw a line in the sand and dare hackers to prove otherwise?
Don’t worry guys, our company Apple Inc. is on par with Google for security and encryption. As an added bonus we don’t spy on you to make 90% of our revenue.
That’s why my gmail was hacked into last week even with two factor encryption among other things.
I see what you did there
Is Chairman Schmidt suffering from late stage syphilis – or just believing his own bull shit?
That’s just sad.
Funny that he stated their systems are are the most secure not that Android is the most secure. That says tons without saying.
Your giving the schmidt too much credit…
LOL how do. He said their systems not Android.
Google’s systems are *less* secure than Apple’s, because Google holds the encryption keys and Apple doesn’t.
Google *was* way ahead on encryption, but Google today still holds the encryption keys while Apple does not. Thus Google is behind Apple on protecting our privacy and security and will still be able to satisfy government requests for data. Google is enormously concerned about maintaining control over the data collected, as these data give Google a strategic business advantage.
We haven’t necessarily heard about Google being hacked–which doesn’t mean Google hasn’t been hacked–but we have heard about Google employees abusing their access…
Just Google “David Barksdale google engineer”
Bull Schmidt.
Brilliant!

And it was important to post this THREE TIMES(!!)… because??!
Schmidt is the new Ballmer-like lapdog – what does he care if it’s true or not, he’s making billions for saying anything the other Google guys want. He knows about as much tech as Ballmer did.
So he’s the new Tim Cook?
While Cook doesn’t have a technical background like Steve did, he’s in a different league as far as trying to understand the products.
For example, Tim wouldn’t have called his phone a Moto Razr X. It’s a small difference but it means a lot. It means he cares enough to study up and get it right.
He’s just pitching his book
Wow. Google should be so proud of him. What an idiot.
And then we laughed…
If Schmidt says something is true, you can safely bet that it’s not.
“Far more secure and encrypted”. Huh, that’s interesting.
You’d think Google would want to keep their apps and content as far away from Apple products as possible if they were the least bit concerned about Apple’s so-called lack of security. Just because a bank vault is secure doesn’t mean you park it in the front lobby.
And yet for all his anti-Apple talk his company enjoys reaps massive revenues from iOS users who generate more traffic for Google services than Android users. So yeah, tell us another one Mr. Schmidt.
Any company that actually has to have “DON’T BE EVIL” as their credo clearly needs that red-herring BADLY.
30 plus comments, and not one from trollboy Herb. He must be sick today.
