Apple adds 10 new retailers to Apple Pay website, brings total to 68 merchants

Screen Shot 2015-04-08 at 11.04.29 PMApple this evening has added 10 new retailers to its Apple Pay site, bringing the total to 68 merchants highlighted on its website. Eddy Cue revealed earlier this year that Apple Pay was available in Oracle Arena, home of the Golden State Warriors, and Apple has officially added the arena to its site tonight. Apple also officially added the Amway Center and US Airways Center to the site, although both have previously supported Apple Pay.

Apple previously said contactless payment terminals at over 700,000 locations total support Apple Pay in the US.

Other additions to the Apple Pay site include Acme, Davis Food and Drug, FireHouse Subs, GameStop, Luby’s, Rubio’s and T-Mobile retail. Apple also added fast-food chain Raley’s to the list of retailers to which Apple Pay support is coming soon.

Apple recently announced yet another expansion to the banks and credit-unions that support Apple Pay, bringing the total to over 180 institutions.

The full list of tonight’s additions to the Apple Pay retail website is below:

  • Acme
  • Davis Food and Drug
  • FireHouse Subs
  • GameStop
  • Golden State Warriors
  • Luby’s
  • Orlando Magic
  • Phoenix Suns
  • Rubio’s
  • T-Mobile retail

I just checked this new partner list and Acme is also apparently on the CurrentC list. Combine this and the fact that Trader Joe’s is preparing to launch Apple Pay (I’ve been told that many times by the cashiers), I’d say their exclusivity is ending.

You beat me to the point. Acme also joins Home Depot as a defector from Current C and Meijer which supports both. Acme is a real win for the midwest along with BMO Harris bank coming online this week.

Rubio’s, FireHouse Subs and Luby’s are nice restaurant additions.

T-Mobile is good I hope they can allow PrePaid Visa loading with Apple Pay. That would be great.

Although Basha’s (A local Arizona supermarket chain) is listed as a new Apple Pay merchant, it actually has been accepting Apple Pay for months.

Raleys is a grocery chain, not a fast food chain.

  4. Now if we can only get retailers to stop requiring signatures when using Apple Pay.
